| Lol I sage constantly. I actually just moved into my new apartment and before I did anything else, I saged. Also, when we went to the Orlando Pagan Pride Day, we went to a magickal herbal class where it was suggested to have a bowl of lavendar and salt by the front door to cut negativity. I haven't tried it yet but Shari has it sitting by her front door and it seems to work rather well.
I mostly burn purple, green, red, and black candles. Purple at night, green during the day, red when I am cooking, and black when I am doing any type of divination. I also have a working candle which is white that I always burn when I am doing anything relating to the Craft. I know this might sound weird but other than when we do ritual at Justin's, I don't light a candle for the God or Goddess.
It's not that I'm rebelling...oh wait, yes it is

On another note!
I usually use salt/water, sage, then jasmin when cleaning.
As to favorite candle, If I am using them without intention, it is anything that smells spicey
